Tales from Six Acres: Volume 1

Ten read-aloud stories from a real farm — with a duck named Tillie who actually lives here.

Tales from Six Acres: Volume 1 brings together all ten stories from our little farm in Michigan, where every character is a real animal. Tillie the small white Pekin duck, Turk the turkey, Billy Bob with his big orange feet, and the guinea fowl trio — Benny, Henny, and Penny — get into mud rescues, summer storms, squirrel quarrels, and one shadowy autumn evening that brings the collection full circle.

Written for children ages 5–8, these stories are made for bedtime reading and quiet afternoons. Kids love the sound effects woven into every tale — the crash-rustle-shake in the bushes, the tramp-tramp-tramp of little feet — and parents love that the adventures end with warmth, friendship, and just enough gentle mischief.

Every story is true to life on our six acres. The mud pool is real. The back pond is real. And yes — Tillie is real.
